Cuban Art History

The National Fine Arts Museum hosts one of the largest collections of paintings and sculptures in Latin America. One of its buildings, known as Palacio de Bellas Artes, is dedicated exclusively to Cuban art. With this tour we offer you a guided tour of the Cuban art collection, divided into four sections that show the evolution of national art from the beginning in the colonial period, through the avant-garde art of the first half of the 20th century, culminating in contemporary art. Internationally renowned figures such as Amelia Peláez, Victor Manuel, Carlos Enríquez, Mario Carreño Morales, Wifredo Lam, Servando Cabrera Moreno, Roberto Fabelo, Tomás Sánchez, Nelson Domínguez, Belkis Ayón, Kcho and José Bedia are represented in a collection that shows a very complete panorama on the art in the Island.
